What is your approach to counseling?

Dr Horne provides services grounded in a Catholic understanding of the human person. If secular psychology views counseling from a “freedom from” approach - a freedom from negative symptoms and emotional distress, then a Catholic psychology takes a “freedom for” approach - a freedom for flourishing and the ability to pursue what God calls each of us to in our own lives.

Additionally, Dr Horne works most frequently with a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to assist clients pursue and strengthen healthy relationships while helping them identify and overcome any obstacles to flourishing in their own lives.
